Pakistani expatriates in the Kingdom will no more have to travel to Jeddah from far flung areas to collect their passports after renewal, as the country’s consulate has opened a courier service.

The community members can avail of the service, which is optional, by paying a nominal fee of SR30 to SR35, said Pakistan Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokher on Saturday.

Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) chairman Saeed Illahi inaugurated the courier service for machine readable passport delivery in the presence of Khokher, Ishtiaq Ahmed Gondal (member, GPC Board of Directors) and representatives of the Al-Ghazali Education Trust at the Consulate General of Pakistan.

Khokher said that this delivery system has been launched in collaboration with courier service providers Aramax and UPS, through whose branches passports will be delivered in different areas in the Kingdom.

Congratulating the Consul General for introducing the service, Saeed Illahi said the many Pakistanis living in the Kingdom will benefit from it.

He also introduced the functions of the PRCS and how the overseas Pakistani community can participate.

Gondal introduced the schools and Ghazali Premier College to the community, its projects and mission of providing valuable education to Pakistani youth, besides its role in providing education to the economically less fortunate Pakistani children.

Gondal appealed to the community members to contribute for this noble cause through donations.
