ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has distributed 1,277 food baskets to the most needy families, widows and orphans, as well as to those with special needs, in the regions of Swat, Shangla, Boneir and Deer Al-Olya in the Khayber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, benefiting 8,939 people.

In Yemen, the center distributed 6,000 cartons of dates in Al-Wadi, Maareb governorate, benefiting 36,000 people.



The distribution process comes as part of the numerous humanitarian and relief projects extended by the Kingdom to the people of Yemen.

Elsewhere, the center launched a project to support food security for displaced Syrians and Palestinians and their host community in Lebanon.

As part of the project, 65,000 food baskets will be distributed over 12 months. Each basket will weigh 65 kms, and the project will benefit more than 300,000 people from different regions in Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador Lebanon, Waleed Bukhari, Lebanese Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan, and representatives from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia attended the launch.
