MEXICO CITY: The top four teams in Mexico’s first division all failed to win in weekend round 13 matches, with Tigres remaining in first place after a 0-0 draw against Leon.

Second-placed Atlas also drew 0-0 against Morelia, while third-placed America finished 1-1 against Puebla and fourth-placed Santos Laguna drew 0-0 against Tijuana.

In other games this weekend, Toluca defeated Monterrey 1-0 on Sunday, Cruz Azul overcame Queretaro 2-1, Chivas lost 3-2 to Jaguares, Pumas won 2-1 over Pachuca and San Luis defeated Atlante 1-0.

Both Tigres and Leon had good chances in an open game, but neither could take advantage.

Tigres thought they had won a penalty in second half injury time when goalkeeper William Yarbrough appeared to bring down Danilinho inside the box. But instead of giving the penalty, the referee handed Danilinho a yellow card for simulation.

Amaury Ponce came closest for Atlas, but his free kick from 25 yards was pushed away by Morelia ‘keeper Federico Vilar.

Felix Borja headed in Puebla’s goal in the 62nd, but Miguel Layun scored the equalizer with a low strike from outside the area.

Reigning champion Club Tijuana looked the team most likely to score, but Santos Laguna’s defense held tight.

Juan Carlos Cacho headed in Toluca’s only goal in the 71st minute.

Cruz Azul came from behind to defeat Queretaro, which took the lead through Diego De La Torre in the 11th.

Nicolas Bertolo equalized two minutes after halftime and Javier Orozco got the winner in the 72nd.
