ST. LOUIS: New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist achieved more career landmarks as the Rangers won 2-1 at St. Louis in Thursday’s clash of leading NHL playoff contenders.

The result was costly for the Blues, who missed a golden chance to catch up with Central Division leader Dallas, which was heavily beaten at home by Winnipeg. The Stars remained a point clear of Chicago — which also lost at home, against streaking Nashville — and three points ahead of St. Louis.

Elsewhere, Florida opened some breathing room atop the Atlantic Division by defeating Arizona.

Rangers goalie Lundqvist made 35 saves to notch his 30th win of the season. He becomes one of three goalies in league history to reach 30 wins in at least 10 seasons, along with Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy.

Lundqvist also passed Mike Richter as the team’s all-time regular season saves leader with save on Vladimir Tarasenko’s wrist shot late in the first period.

Chris Kreider and Tanner Glass scored for New York, while Troy Brouwer netted for the Blues.

Nashville’s Calle Jarnkrok scored with 1:51 remaining to put the Predators ahead and they won 3-1 at Chicago.

Pekka Rinne made 38 saves, Viktor Arvidsson scored in the first period and Miikka Salomaki added an empty-net goal for the Predators, who have at least a point from eight straight games.

It was a lousy ending to a big night for Chicago, which reacquired forward Andrew Ladd in a trade with Winnipeg shortly before the game.

Despite Ladd’s absence, Winnipeg still recorded a 6-3 win at Dallas.

Joel Armia scored twice to double his season total, Blake Wheeler and Toby Enstrom scored during Winnipeg’s three-goal first period, and Mark Scheifele and Jacob Trouba scored in the three-goal third.

Jason Spezza had two goals for Dallas, and Tyler Seguin also scored.

Florida’s Aleksander Barkov scored twice in his first game back after missing six through injury, and that lifted the Panthers to a 3-2 win against Arizona.

Vincent Trocheck also scored for the Panthers. With an assist, 44-year-old Jaromir Jagr became the oldest player to record over 43 points in a season. Jagr has 44 points this season and is four points away from tying Gordie Howe for third in career points (1,850).

Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Shane Doan scored for the Coyotes, who have lost four straight.

Philadelphia’s Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period to lift the Flyers to a 3-2 victory over Minnesota.

Michal Neuvirth made two stellar saves late to preserve the win for the Flyers, who opened a six-game homestand.

Mark Streit and Sam Gagner also had goals for Philadelphia, which remains on the fringe of the playoff contest.

Thomas Vanek had a goal and an assist and Mikael Granlund also scored for the Wild.

New York’s Josh Bailey scored with 18 seconds left in overtime to give the Islanders a 2-1 win at Calgary.

Los Angeles’ Jeff Carter and Dwight King scored in the third period, helping the Kings defeat Edmonton 2-1 at push the Pacific Division lead out to four points.

Columbus’ Nick Foligno had his second career hat trick and added an assist as the Blue Jackets routed New Jersey 6-1.

Vancouver’s Matt Bartkowski and Emerson Etem each scored twice as the Canucks beat Ottawa 5-3.

Toronto won for the first time in nearly two weeks, beating Carolina 3-1.
