RJ Transient Houses provided a perfect ending to the final week of eliminations by, well, scoring perfect 30 points on the way to its second straight Team of the Week title in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) 4 + 1 Friday Afternoon League First Season at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.

Bowling pressure-free after its opponent Yanbu 4ever defaulted their match, RJ reached the possible maximum total when it claimed the 20 match points and 10 rank points on total pinfalls of 2,398.

As expected, the top three in the team standings retained their places with RJ Transient of Rudy Jamon denying Vovstone’s Makatifoods Pinbusters a chance to steal No. 3 as Makatifoods could only total 20 points off a 16-4 victory over Alona Antinero’s The Transferee on total pinfalls of 1,931-1,881 and rank poins of 4-3.

No. 1 Cool Guys were shut out 20-0 by Current Bowlers, marking the second straight week they lost a match although this did little to distract their march to the championship that saw them notch six Team of the Week victories laced by four perfect 30s.

Still, Cool Guys did not go home empty-handed when their team captain Jun De Dios clinched the men’s Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 655 on lines of 231, 157 and 162. It was the second third straight individual award and seventh overall, the most of any player, for De Dios who will take his team to the five-team stepladder finals with a twice-to-beat edge.

Fed & AAA, a 16-4 winner over PCG-Jeddah on total pinfalls of 2,136-2,107 and rank points of 8-7, is the second outright finalist.

The remaining seven teams play a three-game game series with handicap in which the top two finishers will join Cool Guys, Fed & AAA and RJ Transient Houses in the championship round.

The Youngsters drubbed shorthanded Lance &3rdy 18-2 (1,703-1,631 6-2) in the other match.

Current Bowlers had rivaled RJ for the last Team of the Week award on offer with a total of 29 points, as skipper Bash Langa tossed in 621 to go with the 534 by Cesar Pagtalunan, 520 by Tom Langa and 176-156 by Robert Gamboa.

RJ came away with a double after Malou Nidoy collared the ladies Bowler of the Week plum on 616 on games of 190, 169 and 182 to tie Akang Victorino for the most number of individual award in their division at four apiece.

Hadi Pacheco top-scored for RJ on 626, while Ric Tibayan came through with 621 and Jamon 626.

After this afternoon league is finished the OFBC moves to a new home, Ice Land Bowling Center, for its second season. Last Friday the growing OFBC opened its Friday Morning League First Season at Ice Land. Consul General Uriel Norman Garibay of the Philipine Consulate in Jeddah attended the event along with Ellene A. Sana, executive director at Center for Migrant Advocacy (CMA) Philippines. During the occasion Garibay inducted into office the OFBC officers led by Commissioner Joel Nidoy.
