JEDDAH: A brilliant half century by Muhajir helped Wizards get the better of Titans by 55 runs to emerge supreme in the 26thBRC Cricket tournament organized by Bharath Recreation Club, played at Bader Bakery ground, here.

Wizards eased to the target of 165 Runs in 12 overs with an unbroken 94-run second-wicket partnership between Muhajir (61 not out) and Kafeel V.S (33 not out) after opener Nihal (29) fell to Jarir Ahammed of Titans.

Luqman Razaq (46) and captain Niswer Hassan (25) steadied the rocking boat. Both were involved in a 71-run partnership for the third wicket, which gave Titans some hope for a win, which was not to be as the rest of the batsmen caved in tamely and were bowled out for 110 after 12 overs. Thanks to some tight bowling by Manaf, Insaf, Ihsan and captain Muhajir.

Wizards’ Muhajir PV was the star performer of the tourney as he bagged the Best Batsman, Man-of-the-Match and Man-of-the-Series awards, which gave him the Orange Cap.

Rizwan of Patriots got the Purple Cap for Best Bowler of the tournament.

Earlier Hifsu Rahman, (former BRC president and SIFF president) was the chief guest. Abdullakoya N, Salih Baramy, Koyatty, P.V Alikoya, Aboobakker and N. Alu distributed the prizes.

The tournament was sponsored by Vaultex, Woodlands and Roadmates. BRC President CV Kunhahamed, Gen. Secretary Navas SM, General captain Phiroz Malique, Azeez EV, umpires Faheem KV and Aksar CA were intrumental in making this tourney a success.
