The ninth edition of 21,39 Jeddah Arts, titled “Amakin,” opened its doors over the weekend. The exhibition, curated by art historian Venetia Porter, is displaying works by 18 local artists and nine international artists. Safeya Binzagr

The pioneering artist has earned global recognition as one of the most prominent Middle Eastern artists. She was the first Saudi artist to exhibit in Paris, London and Geneva. Her works are based on cultural themes of her Saudi homeland.
Abdulhalim Radwi

Regarded as one of the most significant artists in the Kingdom’s history, the late artist is best known for his 15 immense sculptures on the Jeddah Corniche.
Bashaer Hawsawi

The visual artist is best known for using mixed media and creating works based on human experience and identity, inspired by her Saudi upbringing.
Bader Awwad Al-Balawi

The Alkhobar-based photographer’s work mainly focuses on streets and travel, documenting people in different contexts.

Hailing from Lebanon, the visual artist draws inspiration from his heritage and environment.
