6 Highlights from Art Dubai 2022

The 15th Art Dubai event is currently underway until March 13 at the bustling Madinat Jumeirah. Featuring artworks from renowned local and international artists from around the world, here are some highlight pieces worth mentioning.

  1. Paola Pivi
    Paola Pivi

    The Italy-born, Alaska-based artist, who is known for quirky animal sculptures, showcased a fluorescent pink-feathered polar bear doing yoga at the Perrotin gallery.  

  2. Daniel Arsham
    Daniel Arsham

    Also showing at the Perrotin gallery was renowned New York-based artist Daniel Arsham. One of his most known concepts of erosion was displayed.

  3. Mous Lamrabat
    Mous Lamrabat

    Often taking shots that capture a synthesis between the East and the West, the Moroccan photographer had three of his striking portraits displayed at the art fair.

  4. Ramazan Can
    Ramazan Can

    The Turkish artist gets inspiration for his work from his identity, past, and his region. Creating bridges between traditional ways and modern times, Art Dubai showcased a piece that directly translates this notion.

  5. Farrokh Mahdavi
    Farrokh Mahdavi

    Hailing from Iran, the artist creates portraits that do not show distinct features, but rather generic characteristics.

  6. Mohamed Arejdal
    Mohamed Arejdal

    In his powerful 2019 piece, the Moroccan artist carved out a broken map of Africa from a single slab of concrete, which feels imprisoned through the inclusion of iron wire.
