Khalid Al-Qasimi
Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, son of the ruler of Sharjah, died in London on July 1. He was the co-owner of popular London-based fashion label Qasimi, which is now helmed by his twin sister.
Ezzat Abu Auf
Veteran Egyptian actor Ezzat Abu Auf died at the age of 70 on July 1 at a hospital in Cairo. He went on to become an acting legend after studying medicine in his youth.
Farouk Al-Fishawi
Renowned Egyptian actor Farouk Al-Fishawi died on July 25 at the age of 67 in Cairo. He most recently appeared in 2018’s “Lailat Hana wa Suroor.”
Talaat Zakaria
Egyptian comedic actor Talaat Zakaria died on Oct. 8, at the age of 59. His most recent film was 2017’s “Legend of the Beaches.”
Haitham Ahmed Zaki
Egyptian actor Haitham Ahmed Zaki, son of the late acting legend Ahmed Zaki, died at the age of 35 in Cairo on Nov. 7. He left behind a clutch of popular films, including “The Treasure.”
Shaaban Abdel Rahim
Egyptian singer Shaaban Abdel Rahim, best known for his controversial songs, died aged 62 on Dec. 3.
