Six guests at Dubai’s Emirates Airline Festival of Literature

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature returns to Dubai from Jan. 31 – Feb. 6, 2024, for its 16th edition. Here are six of the announced guests, who are just a few of the headline names set to attend.

    Claudia Rankine
    The US poet, essayist and playwright won the 2015 Foreward Prize and many others. Her 2004 work “Don't Let Me Be Lonely” has been acclaimed for its unique blend of poetry, essay, lyric and TV imagery.

    The giant of Japanese literature is best known for his poignant “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” book series, which deals with love and loss.  
  3. Rebecca Yarros
    Rebecca Yarros
    The New York Times best-selling author of more than 20 novels is most famous for her fantasy book “Fourth Wing.”  
  4. Tony Fadell
    Tony Fadell
    The Silicon Valley engineer, designer, entrepreneur and investor is the father of the iPod and is now making big moves in the world of climate technology.  
  5. Anton Hur
    Anton Hur
    Best known for his Korean to English translation of “I Went to See My Father,” Hur is currently in the news for his upcoming biography of K-Pop sensation BTS.  
  6. Miral Al-Tahawy

    The Egyptian novelist and short story writer’s book “Tales from Town of Rising Sun” was shortlisted for the 2023 International Prize for Arabic Fiction.
