French-Moroccan designer Charaf Tajer showcased Casablanca’s Fall 2022 coed collection via a short film partly shot at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace outside of Paris. Here are six things to know about the offering.
Emma Mackey stars
Titled “Le Monde Diplomatique,” the short film features “Sex Education” star Emma Mackey who showcases pieces from the brand’s latest range of womenswear.
Convincing cameos
Christophe Rocancourt, a French former con artist who once posed as an heir to the Rockefeller family, has a cameo in the movie.
Potential Bulgari collaboration
A bag emblazoned with the Bulgari logo makes a brief appearance during the video, hinting that a collaboration with the Italian brand is in the works.
New sneaker drop
Following several highly-successful collaborations with New Balance, Tajer unveiled Casablanca’s first sneaker, a shoe with a futuristic curvy sole.
Homage to Paris
Casablanca’s fall 2022 collection is a sartorial ode to Paris — more specifically, Paris during the 1990s. Tajer drew inspiration from the era of the Concorde jet, Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed and former French president Jacques Chirac.
Couture finishings
For Fall 2022, the designer added some haute couture touches to his luxurious laidback pieces by way of feathers, pearls and gold embroidery.
