The Lexus Design Awards 2022 unveils the six finalists

Al-Futtaim Lexus has revealed the six finalists for the 10th edition of the Lexus Design Award 2022, a worldwide platform to encourage and foster the next generation of inventors from around the world. The six finalists eligible for the $25,000 fund were picked by a notable jury from more than 1,700 entries from at least 55 countries.

  1. Chitofoam
    Chitofoam
    A biodegradable packaging solution created by US-German Charlotte Bohning and US-Norwegian Mary Lempres from the Pratt Institute. The solution is made up of the exoskeletons of mealworms that have digested polystyrene foam waste.

    A creation by Wondaleaf, Malaysia, in which a forklift, wheelchair, and hammock have been combined to help with the physical lifting of patients by caregivers.
  3. Ina Vibe

    A three-in-one sustainable cooking, charging, and lighting product created by Team Dunamis from Nigeria.
  4. Rewind
    Rewind
    The brainchild of Poh Yuh Ru from Singapore, this platform uses multi-sensory stimuli to prompt meaningful recollection for seniors with dementia.

    This noise-cancelling device made by Kristil and Shamina from Russia reduces sound from outside when placed near an open area.
