A citrus promotionalal campaign will take place in Jeddah from Feb. 2-8.

The commercial section of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah is organizing the one-week event.

The consulate is promoting this prime fruit of Pakistan in the Saudi market. The campaign aims to highlight the uniqueness of the “Kinnow Pakistani” range as the non-genetically modified version of citrus varieties.

Apart from witnessing an impressive display of the Kinnow (Citrus reticulata) at the inaugural event on Feb. 2, visitors can also taste some slices of the luscious fruit. For the rest of week, all Manuel stores in Jeddah will display and sell Kinnow at promotional rates.

The Manuel store — a high-end supermarket in Jeddah — has been selected for the promotional week.

Pakistan’s Al-Rafique Enterprises — an organization committed to quality products and services — is a partner in the campaign. The group is currently engaged in exporting these fruits to the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

The farms meet international standards such as good agricultural practices (GAP) and hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP).

Pakistan is the sixth largest producer of Kinnow and oranges in the world.

It is estimated that around 95 percent of the kinnow produced in the world is grown in Pakistan.

These fruits, which provide a juice yield of 55 percent, contain a nice and delicate aroma. They are also regarded as one of the juiciest mandarins in the world.

Kinnow is grown in natural conditions. The orchards are naturally fertilized and the fruit is entirely sun-ripened.
