OSN, a major pay-TV network in the region, has won two awards at an annual ceremony for the industry.
For the fourth year running, OSN scooped top honors at the Broadcast Pro Middle East Awards, marking the company as a leader in the region’s broadcast industry.
The first award this year was for OSN’s own Arabic production Mousameh Karim, on OSN Ya Hala!HD, which won Outstanding TV Program of the Year.
The show, starring Arab superstar George Kordahi, is based on the theme of reconnecting estranged family members and friends, and has proven immensely popular among viewers.
The second award was for Outstanding MENA OTT Initiative for OSN’s online TV service, Go by OSN.
Launched earlier this year, Go by OSN has evolved as one of the most-preferred destinations for online TV in a short span of time. The Outstanding MENA OTT Initiative recognizes the region’s most acclaimed products and services that have been driving the broadcast industry.
“We aim to connect, uplift and touch the hearts of our audiences by investing in premium, fresh and relevant content for our subscribers. With digital and mobile media making fast inroads and the TV consumption habits and aspirations of the audience changing and responding to their needs is a top priority at OSN. That’s why we launched Go by OSN, our online TV service, which has the very best of content on an easy to use, easy to access format. The service has become incredibly popular and we’re looking to expand upon it and add more content and features in the months to come,” said David Butorac, CEO of OSN.
