Gulf Dynamic Switchgear wins projects worth AED40 million

Gulf Dynamic Switchgear (GDS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Masharie LLC — the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC and a leading manufacturer of low voltage switchgear panels, has achieved 24 percent year-on-year growth in 2014, further strengthening its position as a market leader across the Gulf.
The company also announced a strong order book for 2015 with projects worth AED40 million, including a vast majority of new orders in the mixed-use developments, industrial, utility, infrastructure and oil and gas projects.
These include the Ibn Battuta Mall expansion, Emirati Housing Program 2000 Villas, Emaar Address Boulevard, Meraas Outlet Village, Manazel Al Khor, New York University DCP, Meena Plaza Development and Transco Strategic Water Storage & Recovery Project in Liwa, among others.
This growth comes amidst a massive spurt in infrastructure projects across the UAE and the Gulf.
The World Energy Council has estimated an additional 100 GW of energy will be required to sustain rapid growth in GCC countries in next 10 years, which in turn will increase demand for switchgears, the global market for which is growing at a CAGR of 10.54 percent from 2014-2018.
Fawzi Jarrar, general manager of Gulf Dynamic Switchgear, said: “We have achieved a strong growth in 2014 and bullish about our prospects over the next five years, mainly due to the latent demand in the infrastructure and mixed-use developments in the run-up to Expo 2020. We are confident that our dedication and improved resources will help us make significant advances in the sector in the coming years.”
He added: “While we are focused on the low voltage switchgear panels, we have got product diversification plans which are under consideration.”
Founded in 1981, GDS designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of specialized electrical products that are used throughout the Middle East in the government and private sectors.
GDS manufactures main distribution boards, sub main distribution boards, motor control centers, feeder pillars and street lighting panels and synchronizing panels.
