Destinia, an international online travel agency with offices in Dubai, Egypt and Spain, has expanded its presence in the Middle East with plans to open an office in Saudi Arabia by 2016.
“Saudi Arabia is a young and rapidly expanding population and currently leads the Middle East economy. As a brand, we would welcome the approach to work with a local partner to support our growth. This expansion would be a great opportunity to firstly support our growing Saudi market where a significant number of our international bookings come from, as well as helping achieve our objective of being one of the top three Arabic online travel agencies in the region by 2017, Destinia’s Chief International Officer Ricardo Fernandez said.
“The Kingdom represents our core market in the MENA region and this is a natural step within our expansion strategy in the Middle East following the recent successful launch of our office in Dubai in January 2014, which followed our Cairo office,” he said.
"Destinia reported a 48 percent increase in bookings and a 40 percent increase in sales across the MENA region between January and November; we have reported a 48 percent increase in bookings and an increase of 40 percent in sales in the MENA region. In regards to the Saudi market, bookings have grown by 81 percent and sales by 57 percent," he added.
As one of Europe’s top online travel agencies, Destinia.com boasts a selection of 300,000 hotels and 600 airlines around the world.
The website offers travel expertise through bespoke servicing and customer care 24 hours a day. Catering to each market’s preferences, Destinia.com offers several payment modalities, including a cash-on-delivery service pay@home.
