AMMAN: Saudi Arabia and Jordan signed an agreement Thursday in Amman to activate cooperation between both countries to exchange convicts.
The agreement was signed by Director General of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation and head of the standing committee at the Ministry of Interior Mohammed Al-Mutairi and Judge Amer Al-Husseini, assistant chief public prosecutor at the Jordanian Judicial Council.
Al-Mutairi said the agreement is the beginning of additional steps both countries will take in future meetings and praised the cooperation of the Jordanian side in various fields.
Al-Husseini said the legal framework was ratified by the two countries in accordance with the constitutional procedures of each, where the two sides exchanged information during the meeting about transport mechanisms, conditions and provisions of transfer, and the number of inmates in prisons.
