DUBAI, 8 May — The luxurious beachfront Hilton Dubai Jumeirah has announced near 90 percent occupancy during the first quarter of 2001. Kees Hartzuiker, general manager of the property, which opened in October last, said on the first day of the Arabian Travel Market 2001 exhibition, that Dubai was a thriving tourist destination, especially during the winter season when many Europeans flocked there to enjoy its sunny weather and superb amenities. “More than 70 percent of our in-house guests are leisure travelers who come mainly from German-speaking countries and the UK. We’ve been very proud to host all our guests in the style and excellent hospitality that characterize the golden mile at Jumeirah Beach and Hilton hotels around the world,” he said. Holidaymakers who stay at the 389-room Hilton Dubai Jumeirah also enjoy access to some of the world’s finest sports and recreation facilities including water skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, etc. Hilton International (HI) currently operates two hotels in the Kingdom, six in the UAE, and one each in Bahrain and Oman.
