JEDDAH, 10 July — Jeddah Inter.Continental, which is taking part in the city’s 2001 summer festival with half-price double room rates, recently launched four greeting-card models to underscore the importance of preserving the environmental and ecological balance. The cards are readily available in rooms and suits for the use of guests when they wish to send greetings to their friends or relatives on any festival occasion round the year. They were selected from 15 original works by 15 Saudi children of varying ages on four themes — our earth; exhaust fumes from cars, smoke and factories; farming and preservation of forests and afforestation. Meanwhile, Inter.Continental hotels in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah have entered into the summer spirit like their counterparts in the rest of the Gulf. The three Inter.Continental properties in Madinah — Dar Al Hijra Dar Al Iman and Dar Al Taqwa, have announced special summer rates until Sept. 17, with benefits including late checkout, 20 percent discount on F&B, and laundry and valet services. The Inter.Continental Makkah offers special summer rates until Aug. 10. (AN)
