RIYADH, 10 August — Saudi Arabian Airlines has taken precautionary measures to prevent the occurrence of blood clots amongst its passengers during long-haul flights. The measures include an information campaign to enlighten passengers about the need to undertake physical exercise to avoid deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The airline will also prepare a documentary on the disease, to be screened on flights and in passenger lounges. Dr. Talal ibn Saleh Qutb, director of Saudia’s medical services, told Arab News that the company was following developments on the disease with great concern.
