MUSCAT, 14 August — Leading international entrepreneurs and business women from various industrial sectors will participate in the first Business Women’s Forum at Al-Bustan Palace Hotel, Muscat, from Oct. 28-30.
Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan will be the guest of honor at the event being organized under the auspices of Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. “It promises to be a world-class conference which has a depth of speakers with powerful ideas and breadth of topics that will foster innovative business practice for women entrepreneurs,” Assilah Al-Harthy, a leading Omani businesswoman and chairperson of the forum committee, stated.
Key business themes will be considered during the event, which will also incorporate workshop sessions for delegates on subjects such as “Developing an idea into a commercially viable business” and “Non-government organizations and their importance to women’s progress in developed and emerging countries.”
Speakers include Muriel Siebert, president of an only female owned New York Stock Exchange brokerage firm. Additional speakers are Oman’s Commerce & Industry Minister Maqbool Ali; Haifa Al-Kaylani, founder and chairperson, Arab International Women’s Forum, UK; Aubyn Hill, general manager of National Bank of Oman.
