ABHA, 21 August — About 365,000 male and female students learn the Holy Qur’an at 16,000 centers under various charitable organizations in the Kingdom, according to Bassam Al-Kharashi of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Propagation and Guidance. He said among them are more than 5,000 students who have memorized the whole Qur’an. He was addressing a graduation ceremony organized by the Charitable Society for Memorization of the Holy Qur’an in the Asir region on Sunday. Asir Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal distributed prizes and certificates to the students who have memorized the Qur’an, as well as to their teachers. (SPA)
