KARACHI, 1 October — The Jamaat-i-Islami party, angry with the government over its decision to support the United States, asked President Pervez Musharraf yesterday to review its policies on Afghanistan. “It is the need of hour that the government review its decision of siding with the US against a neighboring country because this decision could deal a big blow to the Muslim world,” party chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad said at a meeting in Karachi late Saturday. The Jamaat, like many other religious parties have been opposing expected US attacks on Afghanistan, the next door Pakistan neighbor and a Muslim state. (SH)
