JEDDAH, 26 October — Jeddah’s Municipal officials inspected 2,097 commercial establishments and closed 68 of them for violating health and hygienic regulations, according to a report of the municipality issued recently. The municipality also renewed or issued new licenses for 127 shops. The inspection team also visited 1,871 food outlets to find 346 of them violating several regulations. The authorities also issued 1,565 health cards last month. The municipality received a total revenue of SR 648,532 from various kinds of fees, Al-Jazeerah reported yesterday.
