RIYADH, 13 November — Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) returning home on vacation will have the facility of railway reservation for various destinations from Bombay and Delhi, before commencing their journey from Saudi Arabia.
This was announced by K.D. Row, Air-India’s manager for Central Province, who said A-I has been appointed general sales agent (GSA) by the Indian Railways.
He was speaking at a meeting organized by Indian Doctors, Engineers, Architects, Accounts and Lawyers’ Society (IDEALS) here last night. Ziaur Rehman, president of IDEALS, welcomed the guests. Mrs. Jayanti Srinivasan, vice president was also present.
The meeting, attended by a cross-section of NRIs, was organized to discuss issues facing NRIs and work out a strategy for addressing their concerns. Afzal J. Sanai, former chairman of the International Indian School’s managing committee, was the chief guest. Row said the railway reservation facility has already been introduced for NRIs in Jeddah and Dammam. Riyadh will be added to the list in a fortnight.
