NAMAS, 15 November — Asir Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal opened the Prince Fahd ibn Salman Kidney Center at the Namas Hospital here yesterday. The center was established by the wife of Riyadh Governor Prince Salman at a cost of SR2.76 million.
Addressing the function, Prince Khaled commended the efforts of Saudi businessmen and philanthropists in establishing health centers and other welfare projects in various parts of the Kingdom.
The governor also congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd on the 20th anniversary of his accession to the throne and praised the king’s courageous stances and judicious decisions. Prince Khaled thanked Princess Sultana bint Turki Al-Sudairy, the wife of Prince Salman, for establishing the kidney center. He also noted the charitable activities of the late Prince Fahd ibn Salman.
The governor distributed commemorative shields on the occasion to Prince Sultan ibn Salman, secretary-general of the Supreme Commission for Tourism, Prince Ahmad ibn Salman, chairman of the Saudi Research & Marketing Group, Health Minister Dr. Osama Shubokshi, and Dr. Faisal Shaheen, director-general of the Saudi Organs Transplant Center. Shubokshi said the charitable project reflected the cohesion and solidarity among the members of Saudi society. He said the government had constructed advanced medical centers to treat kidney patients in the country.
