NEW DELHI, 15 November — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly planning to have an independent manifesto for Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly elections though it has an electoral tie-up with other political parties in the state. The BJP’s state unit has already been asked to prepare the manifesto, party sources said. This is a part of the party’s image building exercise that will bring in more new faces, said a party office bearer here. The issue of a separate BJP manifesto was discussed at a meeting of party’s UP unit leaders with the central leadership of the party. The state BJP chief Kalraj Mishra and other senior party functionaries were also present at the meeting.
