RIYADH, 16 November — A new website for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) dedicated to providing information on employment, education and investment opportunities, matrimonial alliances, visa regulations, taxation rules and other facilities will be inaugurated here tomorrow.

According to Omar Farooq, CEO of the new website, NriGate.com, Syed Basheer Ali Shihab Thangal, a prominent Keralite now in Riyadh, will launch the website at a polyclinic in the Al-Batha area of the city. He said it will fulfill a long-felt need for a comprehensive website that answers all the NRIs’ needs from “A to Z”.

“By visiting http://www.nrigate.com you can find your relatives, friends, mates and people you love, besides doing Internet shopping. The amazing facility of sending messages to your own people through mobile is an added advantage,” he said in a statement released here.

A novel feature of the site, it is pointed out, is the photo gallery that enables the people to search for life partners and their old friends. Along with the photo, there is the option to add personal profile indicating one’s preferences and other relevant details. A web directory is also on offer to enable NRIs to include personal information.

Described as a joint venture of NRIs, Riyadh-based NriGate will provide a host of other NRI-related facilities as well. They include: NRI search; banking; NRI associations; recipes; travel; housing; insurance; mutual funds; currency market; resurgent bond India; embassies; export-import regulations, export promotion zone, etc.
