RIYADH, 19 November — Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) have been offered concessional fees for their children seeking admission to the C.H. Muhammad Koya College of Engineering and Technology, one of the six engineering private colleges in Kerala for which license has been issued by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi.
Syed Basheer Ali Shihab Thangal, chairman of the college, said that those who donate 100,000 rupees will be given 25 percent discount on the fee and the amount will be refunded after five years. He was speaking at a reception organized by K.S. Rajan here. Speaking about the engineering college project, Basheer said donors of 200,000 rupees will be provided a seat for the NRI student at a 50 percent discounted rate. The amount in all cases will be refunded after five years. The Kerala government has issued licenses for the setting up 13 professional colleges in the private sector. (JH)
