JEDDAH, 22 November — Pakistani exports to Saudi Arabia have increased by 30 percent in the first quarter this year in comparison to the first quarter’s figure of the previous year. Export of garments has recorded 100 percent increase. Other major items with substantial growth include bed wear, towels, hosiery, tents and canvas, art-silk fabrics, cotton fabrics, surgical instruments, vegetables, cotton bags etc., a Consulate General of Pakistan press release said. Last year, the total growth in exports from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia was 27 percent. This year, there is further an increasing trend. The market position shows that interaction between Pak-Saudi Business Community is increasing day-by-day. Major Pakistani exporters are concentrating on this market to increase their market share.
