JEDDAH, 24 December — Fruit farms in Taif registered record production this year, with 20,000 tons of various kinds of produce, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported yesterday. These included 3,000 tons of grapes, 4,500 tons of pomegranates, and 2,500 tons of apricots. Other fruits, including plums, apples, strawberries and peaches, came to 10,000 tons. The record yield is attributed to good rainfall in the region last year.
