DAMMAM, 28 December — The driver of the No.6 Riyadh-Dammam train which derailed on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, Salim Matir Abu Malha, 30, who was seriously injured in the accident, died at the King Fahd Hospital in Hofuf on Wednesday, according to a hospital source. His assistant was killed in the accident, which was caused by sand accumulated on railway lines that had been carried there by strong winds.
