TRIVANDRUM, 29 December — With scores of seats in the existing engineering colleges remaining vacant and the government granting permission to start many more colleges from the next academic year, Kerala is all set to attract foreign students to make them viable. Education Minister Nalakath Soopy said in a statement here that a high-level committee headed by the higher education secretary had been set up to chalk out the modalities for the admissions. Sources at the education department said the syllabuses would be revised to meet the global standards and new disciplines would be introduced considering the demands in advanced areas like information technology.
