JEDDAH, 13 January — A six-year-old boy in Madinah has sustained serious injuries after trying to imitate his favorite cartoon character, a newspaper reported yesterday.
The boy’s mother, a schoolteacher, told Al-Madinah newspaper that she used to take her children home from kindergarten but on that particular day her husband was in charge of them.
He left the children alone to watch the cartoon Superman in their fourth-story apartment.
The children loved the cartoon so much that they started mimicking the special effects. The eldest of the children then jumped out the fourth-story window, landed on top of a truck parked below.
"The other children were awaiting their turn, but thank God were given a reality check when they saw what had happened to their brother," said the shocked mother.
The boy is recovering in hospital.
