DAMMAM, 15 January — The Court of Grievances in the Eastern Province has sentenced a Pakistani expatriate to one year in jail and a fine of SR1,000 for carrying a forged iqama (residence permit) with him. The man was found carrying a forged ID document by a booking clerk at a SAPTCO bus station when he presented his iqama for verification while buying a ticket. The matter was reported to the Passports Department. The Pakistani confessed that the document was forged for him by another expatriate for SR200.
