JEDDAH, 19 January — The suicide rate in Saudi Arabia has increased dramatically in recent years, according to Abdullah Al-Fowzan, associate professor of sociology at King Saud University. Speaking to Al-Riyadh newspaper, he said there were several contributing factors, including a rise in life expectancy, a deterioration of social relations and the use of drugs and alcohol.
