JEDDAH, 20 January — The prisoners in a Makkah jail have complained to the authorities about excessive prices demanded by a contractor for articles supplied to them in prison. The contractor charged the prisoners double the market price for blankets, bedsheets and other accessories, the Okaz newspaper reported yesterday. Brig. Saad Al-Khosaifi, director of prisons in Makkah, said the governor’s office has appointed a committee to look into the complaint.
