JEDDAH, 22 January — Parking in no-parking zones and failing to fasten safety belts topped the 5,343 traffic violations registered by the Jeddah traffic department last Saturday, according to a study conducted by the department. Al-Madinah reported yesterday that there were 424 instances of both violations. Running the red-signal came second, with 397 violations. 2,983 violators were Saudis, and 2,360 expats. Driving without a license, speeding, and driving in the wrong direction were other major offenses.
