JEDDAH, 2 February — An anti-begging squad in Taif has confiscated a large sum of money from an expatriate who practiced begging in front of mosques, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported yesterday. The director of the anti-begging office in Taif said they had handed over the man, an overstayer, to the Passports Department for deportation. He explained that many beggars used forged documents to win the public’s sympathy.
