NEW YORK, 5 February — Prince Nawaf, director of intelligence, held talks here yesterday with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammad on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum. He also met with South African President Thabo Mbeki and King Abdallah of Jordan. Meanwhile, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Ali Al-Naimi held talks with US Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham in New York on oil market situation. Naimi said he saw full understanding in the US of the Kingdom’s role in stabilizing international oil market. The US side supported the Saudi proposal to set up the secretariat of the World Energy Forum in Riyadh, Naimi added. (SPA)
