LONDON, 8 February — British Foreign Minister Jack Straw commended yesterday the support and help provided by Saudi Arabia to British Haj pilgrims in a speech at the Islamic Cultural Center here during a function to mark the departure of the official British Haj delegation.
Straw also appreciated the Islamic values including its tolerance of other religions. Lord Adam Patil, member of the House of Lords, is leading the British delegation. He expressed satisfaction on the facilities provided by the Kingdom for the pilgrims.
The 12-member delegation consists of five doctors in addition to consulate and passports officials. More than 20,000 British pilgrims are expected to perform Haj this year. (SPA)
