JEDDAH, 17 February — Some 750 UAE pilgrims are stranded in Abu Dhabi airport as their flights to the Kingdom were canceled at the last minute. They remain uncertain whether they can perform Haj this year, Al-Madinah reported.

The Saudi Embassy in the United Arab Emirates is closely monitoring the situation and expressed its readiness to intervene if required. The pilgrims were supposed to travel last Thursday. According to Deputy Haj Minister Hatem Qadi, the matter was is an internal affair of the UAE.
