RIYADH, 20 February — Canadian Ambassador Melvyn L. MacDonald donated blood during a donation drive launched by the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center here on Monday. Among the 35 diplomats and businessmen who joined the mobile camp at the Canadian Embassy was Saudi journalist Muhammad Al-Ameer. Speaking after donating blood, Ambassador MacDonald said: “This is a gesture of an intimate relationship the Canadians have with the Kingdom, where hospitals like KFSH need thousands of blood donors every year to support the treatment of high-risk patients.” Under the program, KFSH’s mobile team visits the premises of business establishments and other institutions. —
