JEDDAH, 26 February — Al-Qasswa magazine has brought out a special edition on the occasion of Haj, highlighting the significance of the annual event. The special issue included articles providing guidance to the pilgrims. It had also left blank sheets for pilgrims to take notes during the Haj.

In an article titled “Haj is a worship for change”, the magazine gives an idea of the places where the pilgrims will stay during their journey of a lifetime. Referring to the ritual of stoning the Jamrat, the magazine said it gives the faithful practical training to ward off the influence of Satan in their day to day life by conscious and serious efforts.

It also included a long list of questions for pilgrims to ask themselves at different points of their journey to remind them of the true spirit of various Haj rituals.

Did you seek pardon from God for all your sins? Did you behave properly with other pilgrims? Did you try to get acquainted with your Muslim brothers who have come for the Haj from other countries? Did you spend any money in charity on the Arafat Day, the climax of the Haj?

The magazine advised the pilgrim to link his journey with the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the Prophet had set good examples for Muslims in all walks of life.

The 50-page Arabic magazine also contains three articles in English, one of them focusing on the virtues of the pilgrimage. “Worship of God is manifested in all actions of the pilgrimage,” one article said. “Those who perform the Haj in its true form will have no reward except Paradise,” the article said quoting a Saying of the Prophet.
