MAKKAH, 26 February — Forty-three groups of Boy Scouts played an active role during the Haj. Al-Jazirah reported that the scouts assisted nearly 10,000 pilgrims to trek back to their gathering points or camps from Mina and Arafat.
Shaker Radeen, computer-tracking-network manager, said the scouts did an excellent job of directing and guiding pilgrims who had lost their way, aside from assisting the handicapped and the sick.
