MINA, 26 February — The anti-begging department of Makkah region rounded up 561 beggars of both sexes during the Haj season. The head of the media committee stated that 24 Saudis were among 300 male and 261 female beggars arrested.
The field personnel of the department had been deployed around the Grand Mosque, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalif, Al-Madinah daily reported yesterday.
