JEDDAH, 28 February — A seminar on computer literacy awaits members of the Bicol community in Jeddah and nearby areas.
A project of the Bag-ong Bicol Saro nin Jeddah (BBSJ), the seminar will be held for four Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, at the Tropicana Restaurant on Tahlia St.
The first session scheduled tomorrow will deal on Windows Millennium, which is still in wide use by home computer users despite Miscrosoft’s launching of its much-vaunted Windows XP platform.
On March 8, the topic will be on MS Word 2000, followed by MS Excel 2000 on March 15, and computer assembly on March 22.
BBSJ president Dawood C. Engay said the project is in cooperation with the Overseas Filipino Workers Cooperative Council (OFWCC), which will provide a team of lecturers and instructors.
The team is led by Rudy Carillo, a Microsoft certified engineer (MCSE) who is also an official of the OFWCC and the Pangasinan Saudi Workers Association.
“The seminar is a program of BBSJ for its continuing education to its members,” Engay said in a press statement. (AN)
