TAIF, 2 March — A woman was beaten severely by her husband on the second day of the Eid. Family sources said that the man, a military officer, lost his temper when his wife told him that she had not prepared lunch for him. The man had just come home after work. The irate husband took a thick wooden stick and flogged his wife until she fell unconscious. The bleeding woman was taken to Al-Hada Hospital and her husband gave himself up to the police. Lt. Turky Al-Hamidi of Taif police said the case was under investigation. The woman is apparently not in a mood to return to her husband.
