JEDDAH, 10 March — Patrol police in Jeddah took part in a major clampdown on overstayers. The police arrested nearly 100 illegal aliens, including nine women, in the North Corniche after blocking all roads to the area. Brig. Misfer Al-Telaily, commander of patrol police in the Makkah Region, told Arab News that the campaign was aimed at flushing out overstayers in the region. Security officers were deployed at various points including at recreational centers in one of the largest such operations.
