LONDON, 3 April — Fadwa Al-Barghouti, the wife of Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti, said yesterday that she and her four children were running out of food as a result of the five-day-old Israeli siege of her house in Ramallah. “The foodstuffs we bought last week in anticipation of emergency are about to finish,” she said.
Fadwa, a lawyer, said the Israeli forces had cut off their water and electricity supplies and prevented them from getting out of their houses. “We had to throw out some foodstuffs from the refrigerator after the power cut. Now there are only eight eggs, 10 loaves of bread, two cans of tin fish and some cooked beans and spaghetti. This will last only for four days,” she added.
